Dennis Clare Swenson

Dennis Clare Swenson, born June 25, 1944, passed away on April 7, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, dedication, and lasting impact.

Dennis was the beloved son of the late Merrill and Edna Menk Swenson.

He devoted over 35 years of his life to education, teaching fifth grade at Jordan Elementary School. Throughout his long career, he shaped the lives of countless students with patience, encouragement, and a genuine passion for learning. He was not only a teacher, but also a mentor and role model to generations who will carry his lessons with them for years to come.

Dennis was known for his kind heart, gentle nature, and dedication to others. He touched the lives of many through his relationships with family, friends, colleagues, and students, and will be remembered for the lasting difference he made in so many lives.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Merrill and Edna Menk Swenson; his brother, David Swenson; and his sister-in-law, Eileen Harsh Swenson.

He is survived by his two nieces, Dawn Vaeth and Desiree Myers; his nephew, Eric Swenson; and many cousins from in and around Saint Peter.

Dennis’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him and in the countless students whose lives he helped shape. He will be deeply missed.
