Edward Adrian Lexvold Jr., age 82, of St. Peter, died on November 20, with his loving family near. A visitation for friends and family will be held from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at the St. Peter Funeral Home - Klein Chapel on Saturday, December 13. A prayer service will be held at 1:00 p.m.
Ed. Jr. was born May 5, 1943, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Edward Sr. and Harriet (Ruble) Lexvold.
Ed moved with his family to Minnesota as a young boy and grew up in the Robbinsdale area. He graduated from Robbinsdale High School and soon after entered a chapter of service he carried with great pride. In the 1960s, he served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Fletcher, forming lifelong friendships with many of his shipmates.
On April 8, 1972, Ed married Marcia Putnam in St. Paul, beginning a loving partnership that spanned more than fifty years. The couple made their home in Minneapolis for many years, where Ed worked for Nott Manufacturing and was known for his reliability and commitment. In 2018, Ed and Marcia moved to St. Peter, where they enjoyed a quieter pace and a close, supportive community.
Ed loved riding his bicycle and spent countless hours customizing it, continuing to ride for as long as he was physically able. He also enjoyed fishing, especially making trips to Turtle Lake, Wisconsin, where Horseshoe Lake was a favorite fishing spot.
Ed was known for his thoughtful spirit and generous heart. He never forgot a birthday and faithfully sent birthday cards to family and friends. Above all, he treasured his family—his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren—who brought him immense joy and pride.
Faith was a cornerstone of Ed’s life. He loved Jesus deeply and read his Bible every night, finding strength, comfort, and direction in Scripture.
Ed is survived by his wife, Marcia; children, Jason (Crystal Haugberg) Lexvold and Mindy Lexvold; grandchildren, Austin Curtis, Jacob Lexvold, Julia Lexvold, and Ethan Lexvold; great-grandchildren, Eli Henagan and Cleo Curtis; and sisters, Sharon Orf and Sandra (Ron) Orf. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Sr. and Harriet.
