Eva Eleanor Malecha

Eva Eleanor (Kabes) Malecha, age 83 of Madison Lake, passed away on December 31, 2025 surrounded by family at her home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Tuesday, January 13, 2026 at the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Marysburg with visitation beginning at 9:00am. Burial will be at the church cemetery following Mass.

Born January 24, 1942 in New Prague MN, the daughter of Myles and Helen (Valek) Kabes. She met Raphael Malecha at the New Prague Ball Room on June 4, 1958. They married august 5, 1961. By 1970, Eva and Raphael had four children. in 1974 they moved to Madison Lake. They were active in the Church of the Immaculate Conception at Marysburg. Eva printed the church bulletins, taught religion classes, and worked many church dinners as she was very active with the CCW. In 1979, Raphael and Eva opened Raphael's Radiator and Welding in Mankato, retiring in 2000. In the early 1990's they started square dancing, doing less, parades and camping trips . They farmed all their lives and she loved hatching eggs, gardening, canning, and sewing.

Eva is survived by children: Norman (Renee) Malecha of Henderson, Wayne Malecha of Madison Lake, Ramona Malecha of Madison Lake, and Nathan Malecha of Kilkenny; nine grandchildren: Kandise Marxen, Sara Marxen, David Marxen, Michelle (Nikolai) Malecha-Neidig, Carolyn Malecha, Alex Marxen, Nick (Sarah) Malecha, Gabrielle Malecha, and Jasmin Malecha; 12 great grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her husband Raphael in 2024, daughter Veronica, parents, and brothers: Richard Kabes and Ramond Kabes.
