Gerald “Punch” Clifford Swenson, age 86 of Hackensack, MN passed away on Friday, October 29, 2021. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Thursday, November 4, 2021 at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter, with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church as well. Burial will be in Kasota Hill Cemetery. The church does require masks to be worn at this time. A livestream of the service can be found with his obituary at www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com. St. Peter Funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
Punch married his wife, Nancy Lu Schultz on July 15, 1961 at Trinity Lutheran Church. He lived most of his life in St. Peter and worked for 24 years at the Regional Treatment Center. Punch retired and moved to his dream home on the shores of Little Webb Lake in Hackensack, MN. He enjoyed fishing, ice fishing, snowmobiling, playing cards, and putzing around his workshop. He loved being the captain of the pontoon and taking everyone on a booze cruise. He never forgot when it was “happy hour”.
Punch is survived by his wife of 60 years, Nancy; children, Erin (Bryan) Wieber, and Corey Swenson; grandchildren, Heather (Paul) Olson, Meaghan (Thomas) Pollreis; great-grandchildren, Ryder Olson, Soren Olson, Rory Pollreis and baby Olson due in March; sibling, Virginia Langmo, and beloved dog, Kona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Marjorie Swenson, and sister, Violet Sawyer.
