Grace Marion Jacobs

Grace Marion Jacobs, age 96, of Saint Peter, passed away on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019 at Ecumen Prairie Hill Assisted Living. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Friday, April 26, 2019 at First Lutheran Church, Saint Peter, with visitation one hour prior at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to PEO, Saint Peter Chapter (Philanthropic Educational Organization for Women) or to First Lutheran Church, Saint Peter.

Grace was born on June 11, 1922 in Trail, Minnesota to William and Lena Thorkelson. She graduated from Fertile High School in 1940 and then went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota in 1943, with a B.S. Degree in Dental Hygiene.

After completing school Grace married Jim Jacobs in 1943. Grace enjoyed reading, dancing, golfing, traveling, playing bridge, entertaining, time at the lake, friends and especially family. She was known for her warm heart, great smile and strong faith.

Grace is survived by her children, Kathy Morton of Rochester MN, Steve (Bev) of Cold Spring MN, Joan (David) Bowles of Marshalltown IA, Jill (Dennis) Conlon of Janesville MN and David of Becker, MN; grandchildren:  Kelly, Brad, Matthew, Sara, Brian, Peter, Jon, Gina, Krista, Andrew and Benjamin; 15 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; sister, Mildred Johnson and brother-in-law Luther Fjelstad.   She is preceded in death by her husband of 73 years,  Jim Jacobs; sister, Vivian Fjelstad; brother, and sister-in-law, Wilmar and Maxine Thorkelson, and brother-in-law Vince Johnson.
