Gregory P. Rausch, age 60 of St. Peter, passed away on Saturday, February 18th 2023 . He was born on August 18th 1962 to Harold and Rosemary (Rehome) Rausch. Graduated from Saint Peter High School in 1980 where he was actively involved in wrestling. He went on to South Central Technical College where he received his associate’s degree.
Greg was dedicated and hardworking, and enjoyed a long career at Lloyd Lumber & UBC. He considered his co workers to be an extension of his family, and loved telling his kids about their life updates and funny stories. He loved them.
In 1987 he married Gwen Sieberg and they had 3 children. His 3 children were his pride and joy, always actively involved in their lives. He embraced his children’s friends as his own and many considered him their ‘bonus dad’. He enjoyed spending his free time playing golf, attending wrestling matches with his brothers, spending quality time with his 3 sisters, lake days, and his favorite; being with his kids. He was an avid storyteller, and loved sharing stories around the table at family get-togethers with his siblings, nieces, & nephews- no matter how many times everyone had already heard the story.
Greg enjoyed helping friends, loved ones, and people he didn’t even know. From car trouble to house projects, he was the first to step up and offer his assistance. He was generous beyond measure, which we will all greatly miss.
Greg is survived by his 3 children; sons Eric (Erin) & Seth, daughter Emily, his children’s mother Gwen Sieberg; siblings; Rick (Nancy) Rausch, Julie Boesel, Mary (Gregg) Frey, Patrick (Tammy) Rausch, Renee Rausch, Mark (Jean) Rausch, Scott (Laurel) Rausch, Bobbi (Rachelle) Rausch, as well as his several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Rosemary (Rehome) Rausch & his 2 beloved dogs, Tracker and Aubrey.
The memorial visitation will be held on Saturday, February 25th from 4:00-7:00pm at the St. Peter Funeral Home. There will be a reception to follow at the Red Men Club for anyone who is unable to make the visitation or would like to visit with our family longer.
