Jean Lucille (Rydeen) Mayo, age 91, went to be with the Lord on May 4, 2022. Private family services will be held.
A native of Kasota Mn. Jean was born May 12, 1930 in Mankato Mn. to Carl M. and Hazel (McTighe) Rydeen. She attended Kasota Schools for 1st thru 11th grade, and graduated from St. Peter High School in 1948.
Jean married Robert M. Mayo of St Peter on November 26, 1953. In 1954 they moved to California where they resided for 13 years, then lived in Texas for 28 years. Jean worked as a bookkeeper for Quick Fill Oil Co. in Sherman, Texas. She also volunteered at Medical Plaza Hospital in Sherman, where she was treasurer of the hospital auxiliary and earned a 10,000 hour service pin.
In 1995 Jean moved to Kasota Mn. She enjoyed feeding the birds and knew every bird that came to her feeders. She loved music, being with her family/friends, and also liked to travel.
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Robert M. Mayo; brother Ken Rydeen; brothers-in-law: Donald Mayo and Earl Mayo; and sister-in-law Lucille Jean Foreman.
She is survived by her children: Tom (Linda) of Carmichael CA, Steve of Morgan TX, Gayle Moschner of Citrus Heights CA, and Kevin (Gail) of Roseville, CA; Two granddaughters: Kimberly Jean Furbee of Roseville CA, and Stevie Marie Ealey of Denton TX; and four great granddaughters: Samantha, Taylor, Allenya and Emma.
The family would like to thank the St Peter Benedictine Living Community for their many years of wonderful care and kindness, and also Hospice for their tender care during her final days.
