Kasandra "Sandy" Ann Swenson

Kasandra “Sandy” Ann Swenson, age 85, of St. Peter passed away on July 18, 2026 at Ecumen Prairie Hill, St. Peter.

Private graveside services will take place at a later date. St. Peter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Sandy was born and raised in St. Peter, MN. She graduated from the University of Denver with a BA in education. Sandy married and moved to Munich, Germany where she lived for ten years in the civilian community, and taught at the Munich American Elementary School. Upon returning to Denver, she chose Colorado Springs as her home. Her community volunteer efforts included VIBeS-Visually Impaired and Blind Skiers, where she was a guide in the organization and also served as the Director of Communications. Sandy later resided in Oro Valley, AZ for about 20 years before moving back to St. Peter, MN.

Sandy’s hobbies included skiing, hiking, golfing, and reading. She was especially fond of spending time with her Yorkies that she had over the years.

Sandy is survived by her nieces and nephews, Bradley (Tena) Haugdahl of St. Peter, MN, Dee A. Dahlke (Wes Haglund) of Willmar, MN, Steve (Paula) Haugdahl of St. Peter, MN, Jon (Kathy) Haugdahl of Hayes, VA, and Jim (Sadie) Haugdahl of Mankato, MN, as well as many great-nieces, great-nephews, and friends.

Sandy was preceded in death by her parents, Abner and Georgia Haugdahl; brother, Sam Haugdahl, infant brother, and sister-in-law, Carol Haugdahl.
