Larry Dean Hinden

July 3, 1943 — May 23, 2026

St. Peter, MN

Larry Dean Hinden passed away peacefully May 23, 2026 at the age of 82 leaving behind a family who loved him, a garden that needed planting, multiple projects to be completed and stories left untold.

Larry was born July 3, 1943 in Bagley, MN to Edgar and Amanda Hinden. He grew up in Gonvick, MN, receiving his education from Gonvick Public Schools where he met his wife of 62 years Donna (Sorby) Hinden. Together they began a life journey raising 2 children, 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Larry began his career as a farmhand where he was able to fuel his passion for horses and the outdoors. He worked at Detroiter Mobile Homes in Red Lake Falls, MN building mobile homes. He then moved his family to St. Peter, MN to begin his road construction days at Komatz Construction, Loomis Aggregates and W.W. Blacktopping.

Larry was hard working, jack-of-all-trades and master story teller! He enjoyed working in his woodshed, hunting and fishing and following all his Minnesota sports teams. His garden was his pride and joy sharing his produce with everyone! He could strike up a conversation with anyone and made friends wherever he went. He loved teaching his grandchildren/great grandchildren Nowegien, especially how to count.
