Leonard Dale Vogt

June 28, 1946 — April 15, 2024

Kasota

Leonard Dale Vogt, 77, passed away at his home in Kasota on April 15, 2024, after a long courageous battle with cancer. Lenny was born on June 28, 1946, to Leonard and Bernice (Borsch) Vogt in St. Peter, MN. Lenny was a graduate of St. Peter High School (1964). After high school, he was drafted by the U.S. Army where he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War.

Upon his return from the war, he met the love of his life, Linda Bachaus, and they were joined in marriage on June 2, 1973. Together, they raised three children and numerous dogs. Lenny dedicated his life to following his father’s footsteps as a mink rancher, until he retired in December 2020. He enjoyed taking his dogs out racoon hunting, trapping, hunting, and ice fishing. Lenny was a kind soul with the biggest heart who took everyone he met under his wing. He made an impact on everyone who ever met him; from raising all the kids who helped him at the ranch to squeezing the life out of every man’s hand. He was loved and respected by all that knew him.

Leonard is survived by his wife Linda, children: Dan (Jessica) Vogt of St. Peter, Sara (Eric) Risto of Le Center, and Katie (Ryan) Gibson of Kasota; grandchildren: Kaylee, Payton, and Nolan Vogt; Trae, Rhys, and Aryana Risto; Autumn, Azalya, and Parker Gibson; Sister Betty Mager; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Leonard is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Bernice Vogt and sister Mary Ann Hanson.

A special thank you to Ecumen Hospice for all their care and support throughout this difficult time.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the St. Peter American Legion on Saturday, June 29th, from 1-5pm.
