Lois D. Peterson

Lois D. Peterson, age 97, of Shoreview and formerly of St. Peter, died Thursday, December 22, 2022.  Her funeral service is at 12:00pm, Friday, December 30, 2022, at Union Presbyterian Church in St. Peter.  Visitation will be at 10:30 am.  Memorials to the Union Presbyterian Church are preferred.

Born on July 2, 1925, in Pipestone, Minnesota to Nels and Frances (Oberg) Rasmussen.  After graduating from Pipestone High School, she moved to Mankato where she married her husband of 74 years, Donald Peterson.  They moved to St. Peter and Lois worked as a secretary for the St. Peter School District for 23 years.

Longtime member of the Union Presbyterian Church in St. Peter.  She served several terms as an elder on the Session of the church and served on several committees of the Minnesota Valley Presbytery.  She enjoyed needlework, creating ceramics, genealogy, traveling and spending time with her family.

Survived by her husband, Donald, daughter Diane (Brent) Hanson, granddaughters Emily (Joe) Serrano, Sarah Hanson, and Abby Liberty, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Frances Hamilton and Violet Determan, and brothers Floyd and Richard Rasmussen.
