Louise M. Goede, age 77, of Cleveland passed away on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 surrounded by her beloved family. Public visitation is from 4:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m., on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the St. Peter Funeral Home. Private family memorial service will be held at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Cleveland. Memorials can be given to Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cleveland.
From day one, Louise was one of a kind, coming into the world on 01/23/45 (12345) a fact that she liked to share with others often. Before meeting the love of her life, Mel, she raised Tami and Jimmy as a single, hard-working mom. After meeting Mel, they joined their blended family. Her hard work paid off, earning the title of Vice President for First National Bank in St. Peter, in a time when the profession was dominated by men. She was a woman of many interests and hobbies; her family and friends always being number one. Louise enjoyed hosting her family, cooking and baking her famous meals (sloppy joes, Sunday chicken and the world’s best cookies), spending the day playing games, and ending the day with the longest Minnesota goodbye known to man. She enjoyed being a “woman of the 90’s” (well into the 21st century) with her daughters and granddaughters, navigating their way through shopping excursions and vacations. Louise was a world traveler, traveling all over the U.S and internationally with her family and friends, collecting magnets along the way. Socially, she enjoyed Thursday night “Lutheran hour”, Bible study, book and knitting clubs and swimming. Outside of her family and social life, she somehow made the time for several hobbies: quilting, knitting, stamping, jewelry making, dabbling in essential oils and collecting shoes and black clothing. While her family was number one, Diet Pepsi, still moo-ing hamburgers and jelly beans were also at the top of the list. In addition to all her amazing traits, she was incredibly thoughtful, sending cards and delivering cookies to those who needed their spirits lifted. Louise remained steadfast in her faith until the very end and was looking forward to meeting Jesus. She had an impact on the life of so many and she will be missed dearly by those who loved her.
Louise is survived by: her children: Jimmy Goede, Sara (Brent) Rundle, Jon Deshayes (Heather) and Paul Deshayes; grandchildren, Emily Simmerly, Sam (Ben) Olsen, Nick Goede, Jenna Goede, Jacob Rundle, Derek Rundle, Tyler Rundle, Evan Deshayes, and Emily Deshayes; great-grandchildren, Eloise, Timmy, Juliette, and Sebastian Simmerly, and Luella Olsen; son-in-law, Tom (Chris) Christensen; special friend, Frank, and other relatives. She had a joyous reunion in heaven with her parents, beloved husband, Mel and daughter, Tami.
