Marolyn Claire Kleinert, age 97 of Saint Peter, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2019.
Marolyn was born in Jackson, Michigan, on May 15, 1921, to Devillo and Leola Abernathy. Her family spent time living in Chicago, Illinois and rural Kansas before moving back to Jackson. Marolyn spent her early working career at Aeroquip Corporation, where she met her future husband, Ray Kleinert. Ray and Marolyn were married following Ray’s service in WWII, and they started a family in Jackson. In 1956, upon the invitation of an Army buddy of Ray’s, Jim Martell, the family moved to St. Peter, MN, and Ray went to work with Jim at the Holiday House. Marolyn’s working career in St. Peter was spent as a bookkeeper for the St. Peter Community Hospital, where she worked from 1963 to 1986. In retirement, Marolyn volunteered at the Nicollet County Historical Society, and she always looked forward to her time with the Library and Quilting Circles at First Lutheran Church. Marolyn’s greatest joy was time spent with her children, grandkids and great-grandkids.
She is survived by her four children: Linda Theissen (Mike), Cindy White, Tom (Robin), Jeff; eight grandchildren: Tammy Green (Pat), Paul Pehrson (Julie), Jill Verrico (Mark), Jason Pehrson, Ryan White, Kyle White (Bryanna), Annie Oldenburg (Mike), Jeff Kleinert (fiancée Bryanne), and fourteen great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Mark Akland, for taking such good care of Marolyn all these years, and to the emergency staff at Mayo Health Systems.
