Marshall W. Anthony, age 87, of St. Peter, died on June 15, 2026 at his home.
Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. Union Presbyterian Church, St. Peter. Visitation will be Monday, June 22 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at St. Peter Funeral Home- Klein Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at church. Interment will be at Greenhill Cemetery. Memorials are preferred to St. Peter Booster Club.
Marshall was born on July 25, 1938 in St. Peter to Lorenzo and Lois (Dahl) Anthony. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1956. Marshall attended LSU for one year before transferring to Macalester College for his undergraduate degree. He then received his law degree from William Mitchell College of Law. Marshall was united in marriage to Janet Gardner on October 3, 1964 in Bayport, MN. Marshall passed the bar in 1968 and owned and operated Anthony and Anthony Attorneys at Law. He practiced law for 58 years. Marshall loved MN sports and especially loved attending his children and grandchildren’s sporting events. Marshall enjoyed reading, history, and hosting family and friends at his home. He was a member of Union Presbyterian Church and was very involved, including teaching Sunday school. He was a member of the St. Peter Baseball Association, St. Peter Chamber of Commerce, and the Nicollet County Historical Society.
Marshall is survived by his wife, Janet of St. Peter; children, Tom Anthony of St. Peter, Laura Anthony of Gastonia, NC, Paul Anthony of St. Peter, and Andrew (Amy) Anthony of Prior Lake; and grandchildren, Hayden and Abby Anthony of Prior Lake and Wade Anthony of St. Peter. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lorenzo and Lois Anthony; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Gordon Bower of Stanford, CA; brother-in-law, David Gardner of Bayport, MN; and nephew, Chad Gardner of Aiea, HI.
