Maurice J. Ritz, age 86 of St. Peter, passed on Monday, April 10, 2023 in Mankato.

Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00am Friday, April 14, 2023 at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, St. Peter. Maurice Joseph was born November 14, 1936 in Granby Township, Nicollet County to Clarence and Veronica (Galles) Ritz. He is a 1958 graduate of St. Peter High School. He served many years in the MN Army National Guard & US Army Reserve and, although his heart was in farming, his career was driving truck.  Maurice was united in marriage to Carolyn R. Davis on September 17, 1960 at the Catholic Church of the Nativity, Cleveland. He was an active member at the Church of St. Peter, Pioneer Power, and American Legion Post 510 in Nicollet. He enjoyed camping, farming, old tractors and especially his grandchildren and great grandson.

Left to remember Maurice are his wife, Carolyn; children: Mark (Betty), Bonnie (Daniel) Vande Vusse, Ann (Steven) Buck, and Julie (Lawrence) Heitz; grandchildren: Christopher (Kavita) Vande Vusse, Jacob Heitz, Molly (Austin Britnell) Buck, Andrew Heitz, Abigail (Cody) Simek, and Jennifer Vande Vusse; great grandson: Elijah Maurice Vande Vusse; siblings: Donald, Carol (Martin) Sterner, and John (Seonaid); many in-laws, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings.
