Nancy Lee (Miller) Pfeifer, 87, of St. Peter, died peacefully on the morning of July 2, 2026.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 22, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. at the Church of St. Peter. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9:30-11:00 a.m. at the church. Following her wishes, interment will occur when her body is returned from the U of M Anatomy Bequest Program; a final act of generosity reflecting her lifelong commitment to science and education.

Nancy was born on April 10, 1939, in Mankato, MN to Jean and Harold Miller. She was raised in Easton and attended Wells High School.

After high school, she graduated from St. Joseph’s Hospital School of Radiology Technology in Saint Paul and attended the University of Minnesota for her basic sciences.

Her first radiology tech job was in St. Paul, then traveled to Owatonna to help start a radiology training school at the VA Hospital in Minneapolis.

In 1962, she married Jerry Pfeifer, whom she first met while working at the canning factory in Wells. The couple settled in St. Peter to raise their two children. In 1964, Nancy embarked on a distinguished 51-year career at the Mankato Clinic, where she was highly respected for her leadership and dedication, eventually retiring in 2016 as Director of Diagnostic Imagining.

In her later years, she enjoyed reading, working in the yard, sewing, spending time with friends, traveling and shopping.

Nancy is survived by her children Polly and Jon (Tanya), brother Larry (Karen), sister-in-law Deb, grandchildren Tara (Ashely), Ryan (Courtney), nephews Chad and Thomas (Brianna), niece Jill (Adam), and great nephews Luke and Wyatt and great nieces Lily and Berkley.

Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry, her brother-in-law Rick, her parents, Jean and Harold Miller and in-laws, Hazel and George Pfeifer.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to the Nancy Pfeifer Scholarship Fund, c/o Mankato Foundation, 1400 Madison Ave, Mankato, MN, 56001, to continue her legacy of supporting future generations in the medical field.
