Richard "Dick" Lee Goodell peacefully went to join his wife of 57 years on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
Richard was born to Wallace and Sara (Jones) Goodell on June 3, 1938, in Courtland, Minnesota. He entered the United States Army in 1955 and was stationed at Garrison Berlin during the Korean War; earning the decorations of Medal of Army Occupation, and Sharpshooter Good Conduct Medal. He was honorable discharged in 1958.
Dick was united in marriage to Amelia "Amy" Murilla on January 3, 1960, in Eagle Lake, MN. He graduated from Jackson Community College from the electrician program. He worked many different jobs through the years, eventually retiring from Le Sueur Incorporated after more than 30 years. Dick was a member of the American Legion, VFW Morson-Ario, and Redmen's Club. He enjoyed fishing, visiting with friends at the Red Men Club, and was known as a good storyteller.
Dick is survived by three daughters: Linda Stavne, Carol Kramer, and Christine (Bruce) Manteufel; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, godchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Amelia "Amy" Goodell; son, Richard Jr "Rick"; son-in-law, Danny; his parents; three brothers; four sisters; and a granddaughter.
A celebration of his life will be held at 2:30pm Saturday, May 17, 2025, at St. Peter Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Interment is at Resurrection Cemetery, St. Peter with Military and Red Men Honors. To leave a condolence for the family, please visit www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com.
