Roger A. R. Willemsen

Roger A. R. Willemsen, of St. Peter, died Tuesday, October 20, 2026 at the age of 80.

A Visitation will be held on November 3, 2026 at the St. Peter Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m., with a 4 p.m. prayer service. Interment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.

Roger was born December 5, 1945 to Jacob and Helen (Spagenske) Willemsen in Waconia, MN. He graduated from Waconia High School. Roger served his country with the U.S. Army. He was united in marriage to Bernetta V. Luebke on Nov. 22, 1969 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Waconia.

Throughout his life Roger was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was a little league baseball coach, boy scout troop leader, jack-of-all-trades and master of reading between the lines of rule books.

He cherished time with family and enjoyed bowling, hunting, fishing, snowmobile racing, tractor pulling, and autocross racing.

Roger is survived by three children, Brad (Katie) Willemsen, Beth Willemsen, and Justin Willemsen; three grandchildren, Mitchell, Tyler, and Bodie; two great-grandchildren, Lucas and Lilly; significant other, Rita Tlougan; three siblings, Jim Willemsen, Linda Fuglsang, and JoAnn Casey; and extended family.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bernetta in 1997; and sister, Judy Opheim.
