Ronald D. Arndt

Ronald Dean Arndt, age 87, of St. Peter, MN. passed away December 7, 2019 at Pheasants Ridge Assisted Living and Memory Care.

Ron attended Hopkins High School, where he participated in many sports and was an outstanding athlete, graduating in 1950. After graduation, he served his country as a Marine on the USS Manchester, during the Korean War.

He loved to share stories of his youth where he played baseball at St. Cloud State University, graduating with a B.S. in Education. He is remembered as the Arndt family MVP.  Later, he earned his Master's degree in Reading at Minnesota State University in Mankato.

Ron was a career educator for more than 30 years, teaching elementary, middle and high school. His career began in Minnesota Lake, continued in Arlington,  followed by Mankato, where he specialized in Learning Disabilities in the Mankato schools.

He was an avid reader who generously loved to share books with others. Ron's quick wit and wisdom will continue to be an inspiration to those who knew him.

His legacy will be cherished in the hearts and minds of his family and friends.

Survived by his children, Lori Arndt, Robert (Rebecca) Arndt, Jeanne (Troy) Larson; grandchildren, Nicole (Brandon) Shaw, Alec (Katie) Larson, Loren Pena, Rachel Arndt; former wife, Judith Dahill and extended family and friends who loved him. Ron was preceded in death by his parents Perlie and Bess Arndt, brother Douglas and sister Sally, and grandson Adrian.

A funeral service honoring Ron's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2019 at Union Presbyterian Church in St. Peter. Visitation will be  4-6 p.m. Friday at St. Peter Funeral Home and 1 p.m. Saturday at the church.
