Rosemary Skramstad

Rosemary Skramstad, age 85 of St. Peter, Minnesota passed away Thursday June 5, 2025, at Benedictine Living Community Center.

Memorial Mass will be 11:00am Friday, June 20, 2025 at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, St. Peter with visitation at 9:30am. To leave a condolence for the family, or view the service livestream, visit www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com.

Rosemary was born on the Pfarr Family Farm near Le Sueur on March 26, 1940, to Joseph and Rose (Helget) Pfarr. She was the seventh of 13 children. Rosemary graduated from Le Sueur High School in 1958. She married Keith Johns on September 10, 1960. Together they had two children, Jody Marie & Joel Mathias. Keith died from a virus in March of 1969 after a one-month illness. On September 16, 1972, Rosemary married the second love of her life, Larry Skramstad. They enjoyed many trips to Gull Lake, Colorado, and Las Vegas and spending time on Lake Jefferson with family and many special friends. Rosemary spent countless hours knitting with her much-loved knitting group, donating many hats, mittens and scarves. She enjoyed coloring and working on word puzzles. She was a life-long member of the American Legion Club #37. She enjoyed watching Minnesota Twins baseball. Rosie worked at Northwestern Bell, Dairy Queen, Gustavus Adolphus College, the American Legion and the Senior Dining Center/Meals on Wheels, where she thoroughly enjoyed the seniors who dined with her daily. Rosie moved to St. Peter in 1960 and made numerous good friends over the years. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew her and especially those who loved her.

Rosemary is survived by her daughter Jody (Stephen) Miller, granddaughters Lindsay Strand (J. Eric Grubesic, Jr.), and Brynn (Matthew) Pulc and great grandson Breck Collins Pulc (Born September 23, 2023). Rosemary is also survived by her son Joel (Karen Januschka) Johns, grandsons Matthew (Katie) Johns, and Cal Johns and granddaughter Sophie Johns.

Rosemary is survived by siblings and their spouses; Carolyn Macrafic, Kathy Pfarr, JoAnne (Dale) Jones, Patricia (Allen) Israelson, Virginia (Marwood) Neilson, Norma Jean (Roland) Swanson, and Kathleen (Ronald) Gates, and brother-in-law Kenneth Wolff. Rosemary is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rose Pfarr; Husbands; Keith Johns and Larry Skramstad; siblings and their spouses; John (Catherine) Pfarr, Marilyn (Jerry) Zeiher, Robert (Arlene) Pfarr, Charles Pfarr, brother-in-law Bernie Macrafic, sister Jane (Pfarr) Wolff; and infant brother Joseph Pfarr.
