Stanley R. Hanson

Stanley R. Hanson, age 86 of Kasota, passed away on Wednesday, June 26, 2024 at Mayo Health, Mankato.

Memorial service will be 5:30pm Monday, July 8, 2024 at St. Peter Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 3:00pm.The celebration will continue after the service at the Red Men Club, St. Peter. To leave a condolence for the family, visit www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com. 

Stanley was born July 18, 1937 in St. Peter to E. Russell and E. Annetta (Hill) Hanson and is a 1956 graduate of Pilsbury Military Academy. He was united in marriage to Barbara Ann Barklow on August 17, 1958 at First Presbyterian Church, Kasota. They made their home in Kasota and Stanley worked as a truck driver, both self employed and for many companies. Most recently he worked for Cliff Viesmann and Volk Transfer. He was a member of the Red Men Club, the Mankato Cycle Club and the MN Vally Stock Car Racing Association. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, MN sports, auto racing, camping, riding motorcycle and spending time with his family. He will always be remember for having a bad joke at the ready. 

Left to remember Stan are his wife, Barbara; children: Todd (Lori), Robert (Kara), Kim (Donald) Seitzer, and Kathy Schmitz; grandchildren: Megan Hanson, Amanda (Matt) Beckel, Nathaniel Hanson, Nicholas Hanson, Natasha Hanson, Jessica Seitzer, Molly Schmitz, and Marty (Jordan) Schmitz; great grandchildren: Elana, Zoey, Liam, Donovan, Blake and Maddix; sister Barb (Dale) Schoberg; brother-in-law Jerry Kewatt; and other relatives and friends. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Lavonne Kewatt; and mother-in-law, Dorothy Barklow.
