Steven Wenner

Steven Robert Wenner, 62 of St. Peter, passed away June 9, 2020 at his home.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00a.m., Monday, June 15, 2020 at the Catholic Church of St. Peter, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 4-6pm, Sunday, June 14, 2020 at the Church of St. Peter and one hour prior to the service. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery in St. Peter. Steven was born February 21, 1958 to Merton and Margaret (Johnson) Wenner in Mankato. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1976 and continued his education at South Central Technical College in Mankato. On September 19, 1981, he married Margaret “Peggy” Benson at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Peter. Together, they raised three children, Matthew, Jason, and Amy.

Steven was a lifelong farmer and in his free time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping, snowmobiling, golfing and especially spending time with his family. Steven was known for being kind hearted and always going out of his way to help others.

Steven is survived by his children, Matthew (Breanna) Wenner, Jason (Anna) Wenner, and Amy (Eric) Zempel; grandchildren, Eli, Waylon, Charlotte, and Ean; parents, Margaret and Merton Wenner; sisters, Teresa (Joe) Kienlen, Lisa Wenner, and Ann (Jeff) Volk; brothers, Brad (Dawn) Wenner and Doug (Nancy) Wenner; nieces and nephews, David, Kevin, Sarah, Ben, Emily, Jordan, Taylor, Brianna, and Bailey; exchange students, Marian, Maria, Alberto, André, Charlotte, and Alexandra; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Peggy in August of 2019; and sister-in-law, Yvette Wenner.
