Terry G. Friedrichs

Terry Gene Friedrichs, age 65, passed away Monday August 10^th, 2020 at his home in St. Peter, MN. Although tragic, Terry passed in an accident doing what he loved most, working on vehicles. Funeral Service will be at 11:00am on Monday, August 17^th, 2020 at the Catholic Church of St. Peter with burial at Calvary Cemetery in Mankato. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 16^th from 2:00pm- 5:00pm at the Catholic Church of St. Peter. Luncheon to follow burial at Nielsen Shop, Kasota MN.

Terry was born on July 16^th, 1955 to Paul and Marcella (Weingartz) Friedrichs. As the fourth of seven children, Terry shared a bond with his siblings that only grew stronger throughout the years. While Terry and his family moved several times over the years, it was in Garden City where he met his best friend, Craig Nielsen. Terry graduated from Mankato West High School in 1973. Shortly after graduation, Terry began his life long Career at Nielsen Blacktopping, helping his best friend grow the company through hard work and dedication. Terry also realized his dream of owning his own business when he began his trucking company, Friedrichs Trucking.

Terry was married for a short period of time, during which he had two children and adopted his wife’s daughter Kysa. While the marriage did not stand the test of time, his love for his children has and always will be timeless. With the help of his family, Terry loved and raised Jacob and Sheila with understanding and compassion. In 1994, Terry found love with his Fiancé, Joenilla. Terry opened his home and his heart and helped raised her two young children, Ian and Ashley. 

Terry was rarely without a smile on his face and a joke on his lips. Terry enjoyed going camping and fishing with his family, especially his bi-annual trip with his brothers. He spent his time watching racing, riding motorcycle with his fiancé, and collecting and fixing up his classic cars, his favorite being his 67 Coronet. Terry spent his free time with his family, from baking or grilling out to fixing up his cars and trucks, spending time with his kids and grandkids was what he loved most.

Terry was proceeded in death by his parents, Paul and Marcella (Weingartz) Friedrichs, adopted daughter Kysa (Friedrichs) Storey, brother Joseph Friedrichs, sister Gloria (Friedrichs) Wilson, brother Elmer Friedrichs, brother Randy Friedrichs, sister in Law Candy (Hansen) Friedrichs, brother in Law and best friend Craig Nielsen and niece Candy Marie Wilson.

Terry is survived by son Jacob Friedrichs of St. Peter, Daughter Sheila (Jason) Johnson of Butternut, longtime Fiancé Joenilla Robertson and her children Ian (Brittany) and Ashley Robertson. Grandchildren: Destiny, McKayla, Travis, Natalie and Kysen, sister Patricia Nielsen, brother Timothy Friedrichs, step brother Richard Pyzick, In-laws: Danny Wilson and Sandy Friedrichs and many nieces and nephews.
