William J. Sexe

William “Bill” Joseph Sexe, 69, of Cleveland, passed away November 7, 2020 at the Lutheran Home in Belle Plaine after a long battle with Parkinson’s disease.

A private memorial service will be held at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Cleveland. Burial with military honors will be at the Cleveland Lutheran Cemetery.

Bill was born July 29, 1951 to Albert and Evelyn (Bauer) Sexe in St. Peter, Minnesota. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1969. Bill served in the US Army from 1971-1972 and was honorably discharged. On February 2, 1980, Bill married LeAnn Zimmerman. Together, they raised three beautiful children, Heather, Kevin, and Kaitlyn.

Bill worked for Hwy Ag Services in Le Center from 1975-1999, serving as general manager for the majority of those years. Following that he worked at CHS Inc. from 2001-2005. He retired from the Minnesota Security Hospital in St. Peter in 2008. In his free time, Bill enjoyed all things outdoors, especially spending time on his hobby farm.

Bill is survived by his wife, LeAnn Sexe, of 40 years; three children, Heather (Jon) Hancock of Omaha, NE, Kevin (Kristi) Sexe of Shakopee, MN, Kaitlyn Sexe of Eden Prairie, MN; four grandchildren, Leo, Isla, Harrison, and Sullivan; siblings, Jim (Carole) Sexe, Tom (Bev) Sexe, Dave (Sharon) Sexe, Susan (Fred) Roufs, Mike (Gail) Sexe, Mary (Dave) Hage, Pat (Lee) Sexe, Andy (Shannon) Sexe, Ed (Kendra) Sexe, Peter (Michelle) Sexe; sister-in-law, Linda Sexe; mother-in-law, Mildred Zimmerman; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Al and Evelyn Sexe; his brother, Terry Sexe; and his father-in-law, Francis Zimmerman.
