Richard F. Johnson

Richard Francis Johnson, age 49 of Danbury, WI, and formerly of St. Peter, passed away Sunday, August 27, 2023 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale, MN.

Memorial Mass will be 11:00am Friday, September 8, 2023 at the Catholic Church of St. Peter in St. Peter, MN. Visitation will be at 9:00am Friday at the church. Lunch will be served following the service and then a procession to Marysburg Catholic Cemetery for burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to John Ireland School or a charity of the donor’s choice. Additionally, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 14, 2023 from 2:00-4:00pm at Whitetail Wilderness Bar & Grill in Webster, WI. Richard was born on April 30, 1974 in St. Peter to Paul and Vickie (Pemble) Johnson and attended John Ireland School and St. Peter High School. He loved his job as a truck driver and was employed by Hopkins Sand and Gravel. In the off season he worked at Fornengo Forest Products. Richard took great pleasure in having friends and family to his property in Wisconsin and showing them his favorite spots. He enjoyed car shows and showing off his 1963 Dodge pickup, as well as motorcycling, snowmobiling, riding ATV/UTVs, collecting agates, pontooning, kayaking and was always up for an adventure. He will be remembered as an entertaining storyteller and a friend and good buddy to all.

Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Vickie; siblings: Becky (Charlie) Thurner, Kenny (Sue) Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Debbie (John) Kielkucki, Chuck (Jodi Thieman – Derrick) Johnson, and Mark (Sue Busse) Johnson; stepdaughter Lindsey Munson; many nieces, nephews and close friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul, in 2008 and sister, Jackie, in 2013.

As an organ donor, Richard was able to share the gift of life.
